Nine days, one registration, and a lounge that filled itself

The client had a hosted lounge at a major industry conference in Boston, a target of 50 registrations, and nine days to get there. On Monday they had one.
Event invites are hard to send cold. The date is fixed, the audience is small, and an invite from a vendor usually reads as a booth pitch. All I had to start with was an 8,000-row scrape of conference registrants, and it wasn’t usable as it came.
I fixed the data before touching the copy. I cleaned the list, cut it down to the client’s real buyers, removed anyone who shouldn’t hear from us, then sent one invite over email and LinkedIn from two named people instead of a company account.
- Cleaned the 8,000-row scrape and added company domains.
- Added ARR and job title so every contact could be checked against the target profile.
- Removed existing customers, the three main competitors and the conference host’s own customers.
- Matched what was left against the client’s target account list.
- Sent email through Instantly and LinkedIn through Lemlist, from two named senders.
- Rewrote the invite mid-campaign based on how people were replying.
“We have gone from 1 reg on Monday to more than 30 at the moment! We are seeing a great conversion rate from our GT email & LinkedIn invites… Through the GT campaign we have also had several referrals where contacts got their peers and team members to register as well!”
People who registered started signing up their colleagues. Nothing in the campaign asked them to.
